Risdons Solicitors are looking for an experienced and motivated residential conveyancing professional to join our busy and growing property team, working from our Dulverton office.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters and will be comfortable dealing with the particular requirements of property transactions in a rural setting. Matters will include residential sales and purchases, new build, transfers of equity, shared ownership and remortgages, together with transactions involving rural and agricultural properties, land and more complex property matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the variety and complexity that comes with working in a rural property practice and who is keen to develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and local professional contacts.
The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent client care skills and the ability to work independently, while also contributing positively to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of residential property transactions from initial instruction to completion.
Provide clear, practical legal advice to clients on a wide range of conveyancing issues.
Conduct title checks, prepare and review contracts, and manage the exchange and completion process.
Deal with property transactions involving rural and agricultural properties, land and associated issues.
Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors.
Ensure all legal and compliance requirements are met in line with current legislation, SRA regulations and CQS requirements.

Qualifications / Experience:
Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with conveyancing experience.
Minimum [3+] years PQE or equivalent experience in residential property law.
Strong knowledge of the conveyancing process and associated legislation.
Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using legal case management systems and Microsoft Office.
Commitment to providing a high standard of client service.
Experience in leasehold, new build, and shared ownership transactions.
Experience with complex property matters.
Knowledge of anti-money laundering and CQS requirements.

Senior Family Solicitor – Private Law Children (5+ PQE)/Chartered Legal Executive Salary: £50k - £85k per year

A leading, well-established family law practice is seeking an experienced Senior Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with Family Practice Rights (litigation and advocacy) with 5+ years’ PQE to join our growing Southwest based team.

The Role
You will manage your own caseload, although will be supported appropriately by a highly experienced team of senior solicitors, newly qualified solicitors, trainees and paralegals.
Your role will include:
Representing parents, family members and children in all aspects of Private Law Children proceedings across courts predominately in the Southwest but also further afield
Assisting our Child Abduction Team
Developing specialisms more esoteric areas of private children law. For example surrogacy.
Conducting your own advocacy
Maintaining professional accreditations
Engaging with Resolution regional groups

Travel for meetings and court dates so ability to drive and daily access to a car is essential

About You

Accredited member of either the Children Panel, or Resolution
Experience handling Legal Aid Casework in private law children law (desirable)
Excellent client care and communication skills
Familiarity with case management systems (LEAP preferred but not essential)
Familiarity with CCMS and the HMCTS portal (desirable)
Mediation trained or accredited (desirable)
Ability to work in a paperless environment
