Our team of litigators acts for a wide range of clients from individuals, small businesses, charities, hotel chains and housing associations. When a hearing cannot be avoided, the team has experienced advocates who can represent clients in action in for example, the High Court and District Registries, the local County Courts and Tribunals. In employment matters the team advises exclusively employers on everything from services for directors and senior managers, TUPE, redundancy, disciplinary proceedings and tribunal claims The team is expanding and requires a paralegal to join them. About you We welcome applications from all backgrounds and whilst you may have experience gained from a similar role, it will be more important for you to be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in contentious work and that you have a particular interest in employment work. You will be confident in communicating with our clients and, under our lawyers’ direction, will be comfortable ensuring that clients have the information they need if our lawyers are engaged elsewhere. Your standard responsibilities will include fielding initial enquiries, onboarding new clients and closing off concluded matters, using the firm’s IT systems and packages, proof reading and updating dictated work, dealing with emailed or telephone client enquires, document production, case management and assisting lawyers generally with administrative responsibilities. You will be very well organised and will enjoy organising others. You will have a ‘can-do’ attitude and will be happy to adapt to the requirements of the tasks facing you. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate your problem-solving skills and how you have used these in your previous positions. An ability and a willingness to work as part of a team with the aim of achieving a common goal would be beneficial.
