We are seeking enthusiastic client-focussed legal secretaries to work full time with our existing conveyancing teams. Based in Barnstaple in North Devon and Kingsbridge in South Devon, we strive to achieve a positive work-life balance to enable our staff to enjoy the stunning and diverse countryside and activities this location has to offer.
If you are a friendly, efficient, flexible and personable individual who has the ability to assist fees earners with their busy caseloads of residential and commercial transactions we want to hear from you. You will be able to build relationships with clients, agents and others in order to assist with moving transactions to completion whilst ensuring that client needs are met, and issues are dealt with promptly.
We are looking for someone with a solid knowledge of the residential conveyancing process, including Land Registry procedures and CQS protocol requirements. We will expect you to be comfortable working within a team and independently.
You will be a competent audio typist, experienced in using Microsoft Outlook, Word and the HM Land Registry portal. You will be confident taking initial enquiries from clients and assisting with urgent matters under pressure. Experience of the DPS case management system, Lender Exchange and LMS portals will be an advantage although full training will be given.
This position is a full time role working predominantly for one fee earner and assisting the other conveyancing assistants and occasionally reception as required, particularly during holidays and other staff absences.
We also have a vacancy for a conveyancing assistant to assist our conveyancing team in Kingsbridge on a short term contract, either remotely from Barnstaple or in our Kingsbridge office. This role can be full or part time and may lead to a permanent position. For this role, audio typing is not essential.
