The Role:
Due to recent growth and expansion, our well established and busy Private Client team are looking for motivated additional team members in our Exeter, Torquay, Newton Abbot and Honiton Teams. There may be opportunities to work from our other offices if there is a connection or if logistically this works better for the right candidate.
To provide a high quality, effective, legal service for WBW Solicitors as a member of the Private Client Department.
To promote and develop the department internally and externally.
To promote and develop the firm.
Maintain the high reputation of the firm.
The Candidate:
The successful applicant should be able to produce a high quality service, maintain excellent file administration and work successfully with other Lawyers and support staff. Experience of working independently in the area of private client including all aspects of Probate and Power of Attorney matters will be essential, however, the successful candidate will have access to mentors and colleagues to offer support.
They should be PQE 2 years or to have carried a full private client based caseload for a minimum of 3 years. ACTAPS and/or STEP membership welcomed but not essential.
The firm will require the applicant to have access to own transport for work use for the purposes of home visits and inter office travel on occasion.

Senior Family Solicitor – Private Law Children (5+ PQE)/Chartered Legal Executive Salary: £50k - £85k per year
Working hours: Full-Time or Part-Time / Flexible hours available
Location: Exeter, Taunton, Weston-Super Mare (hybrid working available)
A leading, well-established family law practice is seeking an experienced Senior Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with Family Practice Rights (litigation and advocacy) with 5+ years’ PQE to join our growing Southwest based team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a modern, progressive firm known for its high-quality children law work in the Southwest.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload, although will be supported appropriately by a highly experienced team of senior solicitors, newly qualified solicitors, trainees and paralegals.
Your role will include:
Representing parents, family members and children in all aspects of Private Law Children proceedings across courts predominately in the Southwest but also further afield
Assisting our Child Abduction Team
Developing specialisms more esoteric areas of private children law. For example surrogacy.
Conducting your own advocacy
Maintaining professional accreditations
Engaging with Resolution regional groups
Supervision of fellow fee earners
Nurturing trainees
Travel for meetings and court dates so ability to drive and daily access to a car is essential
You will have the autonomy to run your own files while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team.
About You
Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with Family Practice Rights (litigation and advocacy) and 5+ years’ PQE in family law
Accredited member of either the Children Panel, or Resolution
Experience handling Legal Aid Casework in private law children law (desirable)
Excellent client care and communication skills
Familiarity with case management systems (LEAP preferred but not essential)
Familiarity with CCMS and the HMCTS portal (desirable)
Mediation trained or accredited (desirable)
Ability to work in a paperless environment
